By now it seems clear that performing the Ring Cycle at the end of May will be nearly impossible. Even if current restrictions are relaxed by then, the logistics of preparing this monumental project in the present circumstances are insurmountable.
As it seems May is an optimal time to present the Ring, as many of the major opera houses have shown us, it seems most prudent to follow the example of the Olympics and postpone for a year until
May 21-23, 2021
